CHRISTIAN COVENANT ENDOWMENT
The idea of an endowment fund had been with the church for many years but on November 1, 2009 the congregation of North Lake United Methodist Church voted at the annual church conference to officially establish an endowment fund.
The primary purpose of the Christian Covenant Endowment (CCE) is to provide a means for members and friends of the church to make gifts and bequests to provide a permanent endowment of financial support and living memorials. Gifts to the Endowment Fund are invested and held in perpetuity. A portion of the investment income is used to further Christian ministry and mission.
Since the CCE was officially established in 2009, it has granted over $7,000 to a variety of missions and ministries. The CCE has funded tangible projects like handicap accessibility improvements and property and building upgrades. Grants were made to ministries like “Cook’s Night Out”, a ministry that teaches children how to serve others by preparing and serving a delicious holiday dinner. The CCE provided funding for scripts and music for a delightful Christmas musical production performed by the church youth before a packed house.
The best news of all is that the CCE continues to grow through gifts ranging from individuals tithing modestly but regularly as well as memorial bequests and other donations. It is rare to find an endowment fund in a small rural church such as North Lake UMC. We are truly blessed! We are especially blessed to have a team of volunteers and a faith community that is responsibly utilizing the endowment fund to further God’s Kingdom through missions and ministries like those funded by the Christian Covenant Endowment of North Lake United Methodist Church.
Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow!
