Purpose
The organized unit of UNITED METHODIST WOMEN shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

Carol Gorham, Jenn Ridley, and Diane Tandy are also serving on the Ann Arbor District UMW Mission Team for 2016.

The North Lake UMW supports both local and global mission endeavors.  Some of these include:  Faith in Action, Chelsea, MI; Stockbridge Community Outreach Tide Me Over Program, Stockbridge, MI; Jackson Interfaith Shelter, Jackson, MI; Cass Community Social  Services, Detroit, MI; PAPA’s Ministries, Jamaica; & The Lingap Center, Toledo City, Cebu Philippines.  In addition, we purchase & sell Fair Trade coffee, tea, & chocolate; we serve the Fair Trade coffee & tea during our fellowship time.

Annual United Methodist Women Events
Ornament Exchange

Date: Mid-December
Time: 12:00 pm

Please bring a snack and a wrapped ornament.


Mom to Mom Sale

Date: mid-January
Time: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

To be held in the fellowship hall to raise money for missions. Each vendor will pay $25 per table and customers will be charged a $1 entrance fee. In lieu of paying a dollar for the entrance fee folks may bring a can of soup to donate to FIA or Stockbridge Community Outreach. The vendors (MOMS) sell their unwanted children’s’ clothing and toys. Advertising for this event will begin in November.


Tide Me Over Program

Please donate 16oz jars of smooth peanut butter, tuna, and boxes of macaroni and cheese.
