The Christian Covenant Endowment Fund of the North Lake United Methodist Church approved grants totaling $5,362 as of 6-12-11. For the first time in the church’s history we are realizing the dreams of those who had the vision to make the first endowment gifts to the church. The endowment fund idea had been with the church for many years but on November 1, 2009 the congregation of North Lake United Methodist Church voted at the annual church conference to officially establish the endowment fund.
The primary purpose of the Christian Covenant Endowment Fund is to provide a means for members and friends of the church to make gifts and bequests to provide a permanent endowment of financial support and living memorials. Gifts to the Endowment Fund are invested and held in perpetuity. A portion of the investment income is used to further Christian ministry and mission.
In this, our church’s 175th year at North Lake we have all witnessed the power of God’s love and wonderful missions and ministries made possible by the endowment fund. From new hand chimes and a children’s Christmas musical, to prayer shawls, 175th anniversary history books and support for a total of eight different missions or ministries the Christian Covenant Endowment Fund is making a difference at North Lake United Methodist Church.
God is good, all the time.
